Policeman involved in kidnapping arrested in Khi

KARACHI: A policeman was arrested near Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum and two abductees kidnapped by him have been released.

The policeman was arrested when South-Zone police took action and secured the release of the two abductees who had been allegedly kidnapped by the policeman on Monday. The policeman had come to collect the ransom from near the Quaid’s mausoleum when he was arrested. The police mobile and weapons used in the kidnapping were also recovered from his possession.

The accused policeman was deployed at Special Investigation Unit (SIU). SSP SIU Farooq Awan said the accused had been removed from his position and action would be taken against other policemen found involved in the incident.
